The fourth book in the Lone Wolf series brings our hero to the southern
part of his homeland of Sommerlund. Ruanon, the capital of this province, is
the wealthiest city in the country, thanks to the Maaken mines. When the monthly
shipment of gold and silver from Ruanon doesn't arrive, and all contact with
the city is lost, Lone Wolf takes on the mission to uncover what's happening.
This time, he's not alone - he's leading a company of border rangers. But
what's happening is beyond any expectation, and it's not just about the
precious metals.
This is one of my favourite books in the Lone Wolf series and perhaps my
favourite of the Kai series. As with all the books, the reader decides the
hero's actions. However, in this adventure, the added element is that he has a
command for the first time and the mystery he's called to solve - what's happening
in the south?
