It is the second book in the Lone Wolf series. Lone Wolf has arrived in
the capital Holmgard with news of the betrayal and destruction the country has
suffered. His mission now is to go to the allies of Durenor and return with
reinforcements and, most importantly, the Sommerswerd, the only weapon capable
of killing a Darklord.
This journey is not easy, except that it must be done in forty days,
since that is how long the defences of Holmgard can withstand the siege of the
enemy, in his way, there are obstacles and enemies, robbers and agents of the
enemy. The problems begin immediately as the first attack against Lone Wolf is
at the port, before he even begins his journey.
As in the first book, it is the reader who determines the course of the
adventure by choosing the hero's next move. A more difficult mission with more
risk and of course more difficult choices, but also more interest and suspense.
It's a bit more difficult than the first book to get through, but that
makes it more exciting. It also gets richer in detail as Lone Wolf travels
outside of Sommerlund and we get to know other parts of Magnamund.
