In the twenty-first book of the Lone Wolf series, a new era begins. The
reader, who as always is the hero, is no longer Lone Wolf but one of the Kai.
Lone Wolf has reestablished the Kai Lords that the Darklords once destroyed,
and the hero is one of the first Grand Masters of the New Order. The reader can
choose their name and even their gender; a female reader can create a female
character if she wishes.
The rules remain the same, with some differences, the most significant
being the limitation on the damage that the hero can heal, making them more
dependent on potions and healing items and perhaps more cautious about the
risks they take. More disciplines are available, and the hero starts with four
of them. One could say they are in the same position as Lone Wolf in the
thirteenth book.
The hero’s mission? At the end of the twentieth book, Lone Wolf returns
to Sommerlund with the mythical Moonstone of the Shianti. He wishes to keep it
safe in the Monastery, but this quickly proves impossible; its power is so
great that it even distorts the natural order. It must be returned to its
creators, who live in isolation on the distant island of Lorn. The hero takes
on the task of transporting it there via Elzian, the capital of Dessi. In this
book, the goal is to reach that city.
The journey will take him through Vassagonia, whose capital Lone Wolf
saw in the fifth book, and we will explore the land of sand much further. We
will also encounter the land of the Dessi magicians, which, although friendly
to the Kai, is still filled with dangerous enemies.
